About

An engineering studio with a long memory

SkyPlain is a small engineering studio based in Belgrade, Serbia. We work for clients in the region and abroad, mostly remotely, and we choose projects where we can make a real difference.

Behind us are decades of work on products of every size: from systems libraries and multimedia software, through business applications for regulated industries, to cloud infrastructure and AI integrations. That breadth lets us see the whole system, not just one layer.

We are among the co-inventors of a US patent in geospatial data: a system that joins large real-time data streams with locations and geographic areas and presents them on an interactive map.

We believe in simple solutions that can be explained, code that others can read and systems that run without constant supervision. We measure ourselves by how long our software stays in use — not by how fast it shipped.

How we work

01

Simplicity

The fewest moving parts that solve the problem. Complexity is added only when proven necessary.

02

Transparency

Open repository, open task list, open conversation about risks and costs.

03

Longevity

Technologies and practices that remain maintainable after we have left the project.

04

Security

Security standards (CSP, HSTS, least privilege, audit trail) built in from the first commit.

Why SkyPlain

Small team, senior experience

Directly with engineers
No project managers translating in between. The person you talk to is the person writing the code.
Quality by default
Automated tests, code review, security standards and CI/CD are not an add-on — they are part of every proposal.
You own everything
Code, infrastructure and documentation are yours from day one. No lock-in to us.
Honest estimates
We will also tell you when something should not be built — or when an off-the-shelf product beats custom code.

Have a problem software could solve?

Describe it in a few sentences. We reply within one business day with a suggested next step — no strings attached.
